About Emma DuncanEmma Duncan was born in Manitoba and has lived in Ontario, Labrador and in Europe. She and her husband now live Nova Scotia. When at home she paints in her studio overlooking the Mahone Bay. A graduate of McMaster and Brock universities, Emma has enjoyed a successful career in education, teaching in Canada and abroad. While mostly self-taught, Emma paints what presents itself to her using both vibrant and subtle colours to interpret her world. Acrylic is Emma's preferred medium although she also paints in watercolour, gouache and oils. Emma paints for the joy of it. Her paintings are available through the Warp and Woof Gifts & Gallery in Chester, Nova Scotia. |

About Isabella FletcherIsabella Fletcher lives in Chester and has been painting since the year 2000. While always involved in a variety of artistic pursuits as hobbies, being now retired from her financial career, she is enjoying and concentrating her artistic love primarily in painting. She works from a small studio overlooking the Front Harbour of Chester, and the Mahone Bay. Her love is colour and her inspiration is all around her and well as from her perhaps sometimes overactive imagination. |

About John BosJohn Bos was born in the Netherlands in 1932 and immigrated to Montreal in 1947. John Joined the Canadian Navy in 1951 and served until 1966. He served on HMCS Quebec, Stadacona, Shearwater, Bonaventure, VX10, and VF870. He sailed on "Pickle" as crew in Bermuda races, Marblehead races, and Chester Race Week. John Joined Canadian Marconi in 1966 in an Engineering Flight Test Group and in the development of Omega. He joined Michelin in 1974 and trained in France and Italy on several occasions. Bos retired in 1989 at which time he started producing folk art as a hobby. |

About Annabelle CaissieAfter exploring a number of art related activities she now exclusively paints with watercolor. She has always been fascinated with the transparency of the medium. Living in a rural area enables her to discover interesting subjects, which provides inspiration for her work. She loves to create scenes that involve intricate details, color and light. She hopes her work will give pause for memories and for awareness of our surrounding beauty. Though being mostly self-taught she has taken painting classes and workshops for a number of years. She has studied with various prominent artists such as Tony Couch, Tom Forrestall, Jeannie Hancock and others, as well as attending classes at Mount Saint Vincent University. She is an active member of the Painter's Palette Society (President 2002-03), 14th Palette (President, 1994-95), Visual Arts Nova Scotia, and the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour. As well as doing commission work she has exhibited in the Hollis Street Gallery, Archives of Nova Scotia, Park Lane Gallery, Dartmouth Heritage Museum Gallery, Windy's Gallery, Mahone Bay, Peggy's Cove Studio Gallery and the Rebecca Cohn Sculpture Court, (Dalhousie University). She has participated in juried shows, which she has won several awards from various art associations including "Best in Show" 1993. She has also participated in the Atlantic Winter Fair fine arts competition competing with well-known artists from Atlantic Canada juried in British Columbia. Most recent awards being three Honourable mentions at the juried shows Dalhousie Arts Centre in 1992, 1996 and 1998 with a fourth at the Ballroom Gallery, Unitarian Church, 1994. She is an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painter's in Watercolour (CSPWC) in Toronto with three consecutive acceptances into the annual international juried shows 2002, 2003 and 2004. She has had her work recognized in the (VANS) Visual Arts of Nova Scotia publication in 1990 and her work was accepted at the Art Expo, Art Gallery of N. S. 1994 and the juried art show "Streetscapes" Art Sales & Rental, 2001. She has sold her work across Canada and internationally to the United States, Spain, Scotland, Bermuda, Switzerland, and China. She was commissioned by Quest Reality, Bedford, N. S. to render watercolor portraits of their newly built homes. These paintings were used as advertisement in newspapers and in the Homeguide Reality magazine. She recently has been commissioned to make cards from her original painting "Docked, Peggy's Cove" for South Shore Tourism through the Oak Island Inn Marina. At present some of her work is being handled by Art Sales & Rentals Art Gallery of N. S., Warp & Woof Gallery, Chester, Airport Gallery, Stanfield International Airport and the Painter's Palette Gallery, Spring Garden Place Halifax. |
